About Rachel Williams
Rachel Williams is a fully qualified, fully insured, 'Equine Sports Massage Therapist', with over 10 years experience, following qualifying from the 'Institute of Complementary Animal Therapies' with a diploma in 'equine sports massage' in 2009.
She has experience working with all levels and abilities, from happy hacker to top level Eventers, Showjumpers, Dressage and Endurance horses. She massages horses for one off check ups, occasional physical maintenance or regular sessions as part of a rehabilitation programme. She has experience massaging horses with secondary musculoskeletal conditions due to lameness (especially chronic conditions such as arthritis or navicular), kissing spine, sacroilliac joint disease, dental pain etc.

As part of her continued development, Rachel attends webinars and workshops to learn more about equine anatomy and biomechanics, massage techniques and complementary therapies, and exercises for improving performance or rehabilitation.
In addition Rachel has an undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Southampton, and a masters degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling (specialising in equine training methods) also from Southampton.
Rachel has grown up with horses and is an advanced endurance rider. She began competing in endurance in 1997, following trying a variety of sports within the Pony Club. Rachel has won numerous awards at all levels, with her talented pony Midnight Star, who together completed 5600km over their career. She has also competed her Mum's horses at endurance rides.
Rachel has also been competing in dog agility since 1998, and competes at Championship level.
